The Gray Panthers April 29, 2008

We have had a major loss in our group. Our Bass, Bill Mott had died, as of April 26th. We are now reduced to a trio of Jim Knecht, Ĺllen Worley and Steve Secaur, as Woodie Cone has taken some time off for personal issues. David Askins, our lead singer, has moved to Lake Fork, TX. So we will not be accepting gigs for a while until we re-organize.

The Gray Panthers are a doo-wop and gospel singing group, made up of men from St. Paul’s Episcopal Church. We have been singing together since 2005.

Our lead singer is David Askins. Our three tenors are Jim Knccht, Larry Crippen and Steve Secaur. Our baritones are Woodie Cone and Allen Worley. Our bass is Bill Mott, and Wayne Sanderson, The Professor, is our piano player.

We are available to sing for dances, birthday parties, bar mitzvahs, confirmation parties and any other festive occasion. Our repertoire includes such favorites as “Blueberry Hill,” “In The Still of the Night,” “Earth Angel,” “Tramp on the Street,” “Sweet Little Jesus Boy,” “Soon and Very Soon” and many others.

Call our manager, Woodie Cone, at 409-225-1697, or the church at 409-283-3710 for more information or to reserve us for your gig. Our website is www.stpaulswoodville.com and our email address is gray-panthers@sbcglobal.net

We are Gray Panthers because our hair is gray, and we are panthers, because we are sleek and muscular. (we wish)
